Steam are either:
1. complicated to build or
b. way too expensive and all made in Europe so the exchange rate and shipping are killers!
Got roughed up today on some instruments I had hoped to aquire. Sniped. Headshot. Boom!
Any of you out there thinking of building a pit, please choose glass, and learn from others frustrations!
Mongo signing out (for the night, I will wake up tomorrow just as obsessed with this thing)
Onward Rocinante! Yon Giant tests us mightily! Hand me my lance, good squire Sancho!
While I want to agree, glass is the wiser choice, it may be the simplest but, going this route will create headaches... How do you control those gauges? To be engaging and immersive, you have to be able to move away from the keyboard and mouse... Steam may be more complex but, it gets you to where you strive to be... flying as realistically as you can. Now, if you can solve the control problem for glass, that's fine but solving that problem is as challenging as getting steam working.
ReplyDeleteI agree Sean. My goal is to not have a mouse or keyboard within view. That being said, there are a lot of interface cards out there that can handle the physical part of a glass cockpit. The software suite seems to be pretty available. It seems as if it would be a lot easier...if it weren't so bland! I like dials and things whirring around. I am excited to hear how your 530 works out though, I have been drooling over those.
